I was over the moon when I duetted with her on Quincy Jones’ Back on the Block album on a song called “The Places You Find Love.” It was just amazing. ![]() I have been very, very fortunate to tell her that. That was one of my grandmother’s favorite songs. ![]() I don’t know why, but there was this song called “Slippin’ Into Darkness” by War. There were a couple that really struck her fancy. It would have to be when I was five or six and my grandmother would listen to old R&B records. Tell me your first memories of hearing music as a young child that really connected with you. It makes me more and more appreciative of the work I get to do. These are restaurant owners and people in the food-service industry. ![]() With the further restrictions that are being required, they are just getting more and more fearful of losing their livelihood.
